During an interview with Variety’s Angelique Jackson on the SAG red carpet, Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson quickly greeted DiCaprio as he left a Variety interview a few feet away. “The Catch Me If You Can” co-stars exchanged a hug and a few words.
“That’s the best day, when you see people you haven’t worked with for a while,” Hanks said. “But also it’s like the famous actors club. You don’t know them, but you all call each other by your first names. That’s pretty cool.”
Hanks also greeted “The Irishman” star Harvey Keitel as he walked into a Variety interview, and he joked about wanting even more out of Martin Scorsese’s long gangster epic.
“It didn’t last long enough,” Hanks said. “After the three-and-a-half-hour mark, I felt as though I was just done with part one. I wanted to move on to part two.”
