The cast of “The Lion King” needs to brush up on its zoology.

Jon Favreau’s live-action adaptation of Disney’s hit African savannah-set film premieres nationwide July 19, but can the cast actually identify different animals shown in the film?

Variety‘s Marc Malkin showed Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and Keegan-Michael Key pictures of animals appearing in the movie, but the actors didn’t have much luck labeling them. The meerkat and lion were no-brainers, but several confused a mandril for a baboon and a red-billed hornbill for a toucan.

“No! Don’t embarrass me like this!” Eichner said after missing the mandril question. “If you had shown me pictures of Broadway actresses,” he added, “I would have aced it!”

Key seemed to have quite the knowledge of shrew species, both real and fictional, guessing first a wood shrew, then desert shrew and Serengeti shrew. “Look how short that nose is!” he exclaimed upon hearing the small mammal in question was actually an elephant shrew. “That’s misleading — to say the least!”
