'Solo' Stars Talk Everyone's Favorite 'Star Wars' Smuggler

At the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” Hollywood premiere on May 10, the film’s stars revealed set secrets and their connections to the iconic franchise.

Donald Glover, who plays a young Lando Calrissian, spoke about the importance of the character to him growing up, saying, “It was the first toy I ever got, my dad loved it and it was really impressive, he really changed my life because ‘Star Wars’ was the first story I really ever knew. We had it on VHS that was like ripped from a laser disk, and I just wanted to be that guy, he was like the best part of the movie to me.”

Glover also commented on his style in the movie, declaring, “I had the best capes, I had the best outfits. There’s an outfit at the end of this film that I truly want to wear.”

Alden Ehrenreich, taking on the legendary role of Han Solo, said of meeting Harrison Ford, the original Solo, “It was very cool, I didn’t know what to expect, everyone talks about how he’s grouchy or whatever, and he was the warmest, sweetest, most supportive. It was really great to get his blessing going into the film.”
