If there’s anything “Solo: A Star Wars Story” doesn’t have to have to worry about, it’s a lack of capes.
At a recent press junket, Paul Bettany, who also plays Vision in “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” jokingly said he wears capes in everything.
“I won’t do anything without a cape,” Bettany said.
None of the actors would say it was difficult to act while wearing a cape, and Donald Glover went on to say it helped him in his role as Lando Calrissian because it meant he couldn’t keep his hands at his sides.
“You’re always using [your hands], and I always found myself speaking with my hands a lot more,” Glover said. “You feel like a magician or something.”
However, Alden Ehrenreich did admit to having difficulties with his cape, specifically when it caught on fire while shooting a battle scene. He said he thought he could play it off and put the flame out to make it part of the take, until he couldn’t.
“I kept going and trying to put it out, but the fire was still coming up the cape, so I had to call cut,” he said.
