Sienna Miller and Diego Luna dropped by the Variety Studio at Sundance to talk about their new indie drama “Wander Darkly,” about a woman (Miller) who, after a traumatic event, is forced to confront the troubled relationship with her longtime partner (Luna).

“We spent a lot of time talking about our own experiences so by the time we started shooting it was very personal,” Miller said.

Luna added: “We worked almost like a theater play, we sat down at the table to figure out what the script meant.”

Director Tara Miele said the story was inspired by a real-life traumatic event.

“My husband and I survived a car crash about six years,” she said. “It really shifted my perspective.”
