More than $2 million, 10 bottles of elderflower liqueur, and three Spice Girls are among the royal amount of money, food, and guests slated to make the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the most extravagant event of the season.
Leading up to Saturday’s ceremony at Windsor Castle, Variety‘s Elizabeth Wagmeister numerically broke down the British royal family’s big day, which cost a total of $2.7 million, plus another $40 million for security alone.
Six hundred guests are invited to the wedding, 200 of whom received an extended invite to the reception at Frogmore House. Of those invitees, six are some of Markle’s former “Suits” cast mates, and three are Spice Girls — only Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell made the cut.
Those involved in the ceremony itself include the six-girl bridal party, which features Princess Charlotte and five more children; four page boys, headed by Prince George; and one best man: Harry’s brother, Prince William. Additionally, 100,000 fans are expected to line the streets during the procession.
As far as refreshments go, 200 Amalfi lemons, 500 organic eggs from Suffolk, 20kg butter, and 10 bottles of elderflower liqueur constitute the ingredients for just the wedding cake.
Items there will be none of at the procession, however, are wedding gifts. Harry and Markle have asked invitees to hold off on gift-giving in favor of donating to seven charities of their choosing.
