Taking on the role of a real-life individual isn’t always easy, and Rosamund Pike said there were times she felt discouraged about portraying late journalist Marie Colvin in “A Private War.”
“There were a couple of moments where I thought, ‘I’ve got to give up,'” Rosamund Pike said during her interview with John Krasinski for Variety‘s “Actors on Actors.”
“One of her friends said, ‘You have to understand, I will never like anything that’s made about Marie,'” Pike said. “The next morning this taxi arrived at my door in London…one of her friends had sent me a sweater and a jacket that had belonged to Marie. The message was ‘keep going.'”
