The Variety Streaming Room hosted an exclusive series premiere screening of AMC’s upcoming series, “Quiz,” followed by a Q&A with stars Matthew Macfadyen, Sian Clifford and Michael Sheen along with writer/executive producer James Graham to discuss reliving the 2001 “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” cheating scandal.
“I think humanizing them was the number one thing, said Clifford who plays Diana Ingram. “I forgot at the time that there was a human cost in this story, but they were, as James said, they were excellent pantomime villains, and they were very easy targets. And the perception of them and the truth of who they were and their lives and what they went through is massive.”
Quiz chronicles the infamous scandal of Charles Ingram, a contestant on the ITV quiz show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” who was charged with fraud for supposedly cheating his way through the game show with the help of his wife Diana, and an alleged accomplice.
The Variety Streaming Room is dedicated to presenting virtual conversations that span from private screenings of upcoming projects in film and TV, exclusive Q&As with creators and talent and relevant B2B discussions with industry thought leaders.
