Now that the St. Louis Rams are headed back to their old stomping grounds, “Mad Men” and “Spotlight” star John Slattery wants football to stay in Los Angeles, once and for all.

“I don’t know why football ever left L.A.,” he told Variety on the SAG Awards red carpet. “Maybe this time it’ll stay.”

While “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star Ellie Kemper — a St. Louis native — was more ambivalent about the move, most actors, including “Orange Is the New Black,” “Veep,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Quantico” cast members, interviewed on the red carpet shared Slattery’s enthusiasm.

“Straight Outta Compton’s” Aldis Hodge said the time is ripe for L.A. to get an NFL team.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how the sports culture changes in L.A. because they’ve been waiting for it for a long time,” Hodge said. “But L.A. deserves it. It’s been long enough; they need it.”
