In an interview for the Variety Screening Series, “Black Panther” stars Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o discussed the film’s cultural impact, strong female leads, and their relationship with director Ryan Coogler all with a catch: They couldn’t say the word “no.”
“Michael and I have a running betting situation and just now we came to an agreement about what our current bet is gonna be. It’s to see who can go this entire Q&A without saying the word ‘N-O,'” Nyong’o said at the beginning. “You can help by monitoring us. What’s on the line is some squats and a donation to the winner’s charity.”
When asked if he would appear in the superhero movie’s sequel, Jordan nearly slipped up and said “no” while deflecting the question.
“I got nothing,” he said.
