Mastercard CMO Raja Rajamannar spoke to Variety‘s Ramin Setoodeh during the Variety Studio at Cannes presented by Inscape & iSpot.tv about how the emergence of voice-based commerce has changed the way brands can effectively brand themselves.

“The world is rapidly changing so you have to figure out more ways to engage with the consumer,” Rajamannar said. Referencing technology such as smart speakers and connected cars, he went on to say, “There’s no visual real estate, everything’s just by voice. So if you have a fantastic brand logo, how do you show it? You have to represent your brand through audio medium.”
