The cast and creators of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” promise that its new season will bring about plenty of new changes.
After Season 2 left off with Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) leaving her children, ex-husband, Joel (Michael Zegen) and potential new husband, Benjamin (Zachary Levi) behind to go on a six-month tour with a famous singer, it’s safe to say things will be very different for the 1950s housewife-turned-comic.
Now set in 1960, the third season will see Midge jumping head-first into her career as a comedian, which will pose unexpected challenges, hints the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning star.
“If she wants to be successful at this career, she’s going to have to give up her personal life. She’s going to have to go at it alone,” Brosnahan told Variety senior correspondent, Elizabeth Wagmeister, at the Season 3 premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
“She’s hungry as ever, she’s determined, she’s tenacious, she’s ambitious. She wants to do well,” Brosnahan said. “This is a brand new chapter for her.”
