Mahershala Ali pulled off a feat like no other, shooting “Moonlight” while also filming two Netflix series — “House of Cards” and “Luke Cage” — and another film, “Future Relic.”
The actor said he was inspired by his costars on the set of Barry Jenkins’ drama — both by newcomer Alex Hibbert and Naomie Harris, who shot her role in three days, during her “Spectre” publicity tour.
“To be around him is just such a reminder to go, ‘Okay, try not to act, and really just try to be,'” Ali said about Hibbert on Monday at the Variety Screening Series presented by AARP, and moderated by actress Juliette Lewis. “He’s such a wonderful reminder of what the truth is.”
