Anyone who has read Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women” can picture the March family’s house, but production designer Jess Gonchor was tasked with bringing the location to life in Greta Gerwig’s 2019 adaptation.

“I wanted it to be like an old, worn-in jewelry box,” he said. “When you opened it up, there was color and magic and hope and creativity. That was kind of my metaphor and concept for what this house can be.”
