The creators behind Apple TV Plus’ “Little America” join Variety’s Virtual TV Summit to discuss the importance in crafting a series that tells the stories of various immigrants living in the U.S. The executive producers who opted for authentic casting for each of the episodes talk about how the choice played out with audiences and among the crew.

“You know when we were on set, the actors that are in the Iranian episode and the Syrian episode, they had played terrorists. Their entire IMDB page is just a greatest hits of ‘Homeland’ and “Jack Ryan” and to play characters that are bringing groceries in, cook for their families, and trying to figure their lives out — that was really exciting,” executive producer Lee Eisenberg said. “So even when we were on set, it felt like we were doing something unique.”
