Kathy Bates on Netflix Awards Debate: Short Theatrical Releases Are 'Dirty Pool'

Kathy Bates took a moment to address the recent Netflix Oscars debate triggered by the news that Steven Spielberg will propose new guidelines for Oscar eligibility at the next Academy meeting Sunday at the SXSW premiere of “The Highwaymen.”

“I just think, showing them for a week just to qualify, people don’t seem them — I don’t know, I kind of think that’s dirty pool,” she said.
