How Kate Winslet's Family Convinced Her to Take on 'Wonder Wheel'

During her “Actors on Actors” chat with Gary Oldman, Kate Winslet revealed that she almost turned down the role of Ginny in Woody Allen’s “Wonder Wheel.”

She expressed to Oldman that she didn’t think she was capable of the role, and had planned to spend the summer adventuring with her family. But her daughter wouldn’t let her get away with that.

“My daughter overhears this conversation and she goes ‘Mom, get over yourself. Of course you’re going to bloody do it,'” Winslet said.

The seventh season of Variety’s “Actors on Actors,” presented by Google Home, will air from Jan. 2-4 at 7 p.m. on PBS SoCal KOCE.
