“I had been told — Rob Marshall, who just directed [Emily Blunt] in ‘Mary Poppins,’ said, ‘When you work with her, you’ll see,'” John Krasinski said during his interview for Variety‘s “Actors on Actors,” of directing his wife in “A Quiet Place.” “And I said, I know, I’m her biggest fan…and he said, ‘Nope, not until you’re in the room and she does what she does will you know why your wife is such a good actress,'” he remembers.

After revealing Blunt took just one take to film the scene in “A Quiet Place” where her character gives birth, Krasinksi shared a quick story to illustrate Blunt’s acting ability.

“I call cut and say, ‘That’s lunch,’ and you see Emily go from pure pain of giving birth and fear, to saying, ‘What’s for lunch, is it fajitas? I heard somebody said fajitas,'” Krasinski said. “The ability to snap in and out — I don’t think I have that.”
