At a recent junket for “The Rise of Skywalker,” John Boyega revealed his thoughts on the Dark Side and how being in “Star Wars” during the social media age changed his life.

“This is the first ‘Star Wars’ franchise in the era of social media. You just understand how the masses think and how, through social media, we get to engage and have fun,” Boyega says. “I think navigating that, for me, has been interesting because I love all of ‘Star Wars’ and I think that ‘Star Wars’ should be a hub for imagination and it should be an opportunity for you to be able to expand on the characters how you see fit.”

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” — starring Boyega — is in theaters Dec. 20.
