Hugh Jackman is set to star as Harold Hill in an upcoming revival of Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man,” but he hasn’t always been the top choice for the lead part. At the premiere of “Missing Link” Sunday, Jackman revealed that he auditioned for the same role in his high school production of “The Music Man,” but didn’t get the part.

Jackman’s upcoming role marks his first stage musical role in more than a decade, which should make the revival a hot ticket. Jackman’s last musical, “The Boy From Oz,” earned the actor a Tony Award for best actor.
