Actress and comedian Retta, who stars in NBC’s comedy “Good Girls,” chatted with Variety about the show’s third season. Though it was forced to end earlier than intended due to the coronavirus pandemic, it still featured plenty of drama and buzzy moments, like a cameo from Megan Thee Stallion.
The “Savage” rapper, who recently released an internet-breaking remix featuring Beyoncé, had a small part in the third season, where she showcased her acting skills as one of Stan Hill’s (Reno Wilson) sassy co-workers named Onyx.
“I didn’t have any scenes with her,” Retta admitted, joining the Variety After-Show presented by National Geographic, after the finale aired. “It was Reno who told me that she was in the episode. I wasn’t on set… and all I knew was the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ [song]. So, I was like, ‘Oh, okay guess it’ll be a hot girl season on ‘Good Girls.'”
Retta also teased what the future might hold for her character, Ruby. and the rest of the good girls.
“If we get picked up, we will finish the five [episodes] that did not air,” she said. “Keep hope alive for Season 4 so that we can actually get these last five to you. I feel hopeful, in that regard. Knowing the direction that we were going in Season 3, if we get to do Season 4, it’s going to be bananas.”
