FreshPaper inventor Kavita Shukla was honored Friday at Variety’s Power of Women presented by Lifetime event in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Shukla received the MorocconOil Inspiration Award to Action, in part for her efforts to reduce food waste through the creation of FreshPaper, which can preserve fruit and vegetables two to four times longer. FreshPaper is currently distributed to farmers and families in more than 35 countries.
