What do Vince Vaughn, Tom Morello, Paul “The Big Show” Wight and “Game of Thrones” co-creator D.B. Weiss have in common? They gather weekly in Joe Manganielle’s infamous “Gary Gygax Memorial Dungeon” to escape into a fantasy adventure in the form of Dungeons & Dragons.

Variety got an exclusive look into their campaign, run by Manganiello and dubbed “The War of Dragons,” and talked to all the players about what the game means to them.

“It’s similar to what a high-stakes poker game might be,” Morello tells Variety. “It’s a game where friends gather that’s taken deadly seriously and is a lot of fun. But it’s serious. It’s very serious! We’re on an adventure that I think about a lot during the week.”
