Constance Wu, Natalie Portman, Gina Rodriguez Want You to Vote

Actors and musicians across Hollywood all had the same message when it comes to this year’s upcoming midterm elections: vote!

“I really hope you go out and vote. It is our right, it’s our privilege, and it’s our strength.” Constance Wu told Variety at the IndieWire Honors. “We’re all in this together, so let’s be one country, and let’s vote together.”

Rapper Common echoed Wu’s call to action at the “Smallfoot” premiere, saying, “I’m encouraging everybody to please go out and vote and that change that we’ve been talking about is right here, if you go out and vote.”

“Grown-ish” star Yara Shahidi also highlighted the importance of voting, especially considering the current American climate. “I feel like right now, it’s important because so many times we have an isolationist culture, in which we vote or we operate within our best interest,” she said. “The best interest of others is not a part of our psyche.”

Natalie Portman, Gina Rodriguez, Amandla Stenberg, Dua Lipa, Sarah Hyland, and Leighton Meester also called upon fans to participate in the midterm elections.
