Aretha Franklin Dies at 76

Powerhouse singer Aretha Franklin died at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, the child prodigy rose to international superstardom with hits like “Respect,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” and “Think.” Over the course of her career, the Queen of Soul won 18 Grammy Awards and became the first woman inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Jennifer Hudson will star as Franklin in an upcoming biopic charting the R&B legend’s life.
