Can love overcome an ultimatum and the temptation of living with someone else? That’s the question in Netflix’s new dating series, “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On.”

Kinetic Content, the company behind “Love Is Blind,” produced the show, which follows six different couples — each on the verge of marriage — over the course of eight weeks. While one partner is ready for marriage, the other is not and has been given an ultimatum: commit fully or move on.

For three weeks, the individuals enter trial marriages with others in the same situation, living together and seeing what life would be like if they weren’t with their partner. They then move back in with their original partner for the next three weeks. In the end, they must choose to stay in their relationship and get engaged, leave with a new partner or leave single.

In a new trailer below, released on Tuesday, the pairs are shown getting extremely emotional as they attempt to figure out what’s best for them.

Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On” is executive produced by Chris Coelen, Eric Detwiler and Sarah Dillistone.

The first eight episodes drop on Netflix on Wednesday, April 6. The finale and reunion will be released on Wednesday, April 13. The series has already been renewed for a second, all-queer season.
