‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Stills Show New Characters

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” will officially end the Skywalker saga with the help of J.J. Abrams and several new (highly collectable aliens and droids). The legacy cast of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams will join the new cast Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran and Billie Lourd to close out this decades long story that started a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

The new trailer for “Rise of the Skywalker” dropped during Monday night football, and with it a whole bunch of new characters and a collection of stills to sort through. The first new addition is the little alien, Babu Frick who seems to know their way around the insides of a droid, or at least, the insides of C-3PO’s wired brain. We also get a new look at “Star Wars” newcomer Naomi Ackie who plays Jannah, and is seen riding something truly amazing with Finn (Boyega) across a starship. What other details can you pull out of this new set of “Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker” images.

And then, of course, there’s the return of the nefarious Emperor Palpatine, played by the iconic Ian McDiarmid. The actor appeared at a Star Wars Celebration this year spooking the crowd into an absolute roar. But what role will the evil sith lord play in this final chapter? No one knows, but hopefully his lighting hands will be back in a big way.
