10 Best Looks From the Oscars Red Carpet

The 2020 Oscars red carpet marked the end of one of Hollywood’s most fashionable awards seasons in recent memory. It was filled with new ideas on how to stand out on the carpet, and stars showed there is merit in both minimalism (Renée Zellweger) and maximalism (Billy Porter). The biggest fashion takeaways from this year’s Academy Awards include palate-cleansing white gowns, dramatic black ensembles for men and women, shades of pink ranging from pale to hot, chokers and statement necklaces, one-shoulder necklines and perhaps the most new and noteworthy: dresses with capes, hoods and bat-like sleeves, indicating a new kind of dress fit for a modern superwoman.
