You can tell a lot about a person based on their hands, at least that’s what Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” series is hoping. The highly anticipated fantasy series, officially titled “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” released a series of 23 posters on Thursday, giving fans a glimpse at the cast of Middle-earth characters, but sadly only their hands.

But what secrets do those 23 pairs of hands hold? Well, nearly every character is holding something, whether it’s a weapon, an apple, a flower, acorns, rope or a scroll. Some of them aren’t even holding anything, instead opting to clasp their hands in a stoic pose or wrap their arms carefully around their waist.

The character posters also give a good look at each person’s clothing, and each outfit seems ripped from the pages of J.R.R. Tolkien. There are ornate robes, intimidating pieces of armor, wrinkled shirts — not to mention the dazzling jewelry that some characters sport.

The hands belong to “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” cast members Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.

Fans can return to Middle-earth on Sept. 2, when the series launches on Amazon Prime Video. See the posters below.
