“Queen & Slim” star Jodie Turner-Smith hosted a cocktail party on Thursday night for COS at the San Vicente Bungalows to celebrate the fashion line’s latest collection and campaign. Turner-Smith appears in the campaign along with Tony-nominated playwright Jeremy O. Harris, social-justice activist Janaya Future Khan and “Nine Perfect Strangers” star Manny Jacinto, among others.

“People want more than just clothes on their bodies,” Khan told Variety. “They want to know what values they’re wearing, they want to know what the ethics are and they want to know who are the people driving the campaign and who are the people that are a part of it.”

Khan added, “I need something that lets me move from place to place. There’s something about the adaptability of COS clothing. I could go on the site and choose anything from the menswear or womenswear and know exactly what I’m getting.”

Turner-Smith was joined at the party by her husband Joshua Jackson shortly after she arrived with some friends. Model Shaun Ross introduced himself to Turner-Smith and presented her with a bouquet of white flowers. “Are these for me?” Turner-Smith asked.

Ross smiled, “Yes, you are so beautiful. I love everything you are doing.”

Earlier in the week, Turner-Smith made her Vogue cover debut, appearing on the cover of the new issue of the fashion bible’s Brazilian edition. “It’s very exciting,” she told Variety. “It was perfect. I had an all-Black girl glam squad. It was amazing.”

Turner-Smith most recently wrapped work on “White Noise,” Noah Baumbach’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s novel of the same name with Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle and Alessandro Nivola. She’ll soon begin shooting the political thriller “The Independent” with “Succession” star Brian Cox.
