Yannick Bolloré
Franck Beloncle

Bolloré this year replaced his father, Vincent, at the helm of Vivendi, the French media giant that comprises Studiocanal, Canal Plus and Universal Music Group. His first significant strategic move after taking over was to put as much as 50 percent of Universal Music, its crown jewel, up for sale, a bold move that got the thumbs-up from most analysts. Still, it remains unclear how Bolloré intends to achieve Vivendi’s stated goal of building a pan-European integrated media giant. Starting at Vivendi in 2006 to launch its media unit, he is also chairman and CEO of Havas Group, one of the world’s largest communications outfits, with revenues of $2.6 billion and more than 20,000 employees in 100 countries.
