Wu
Jing
The highest-grossing male actor of all time in China, Wu is a former martial artist who has successfully established a career as an actor, writer and director. He wrote and directed the Chinese actioner “Wolf Warrior” in 2015, following that with “Wolf Warrior 2,” which grossed $870 million. Then came a starring-producing turn in sci-fi hit “The Wandering Earth,” which grossed $691 million. His two most recent films — all-time Chinese record breaker “The Battle at Lake Changjin” and this year’s sequel, “Water Gate Bridge” — have together grossed more than $1.5 billion. Wu is soon likely to broaden his international appeal. In 2023, he’ll be seen alongside British action star Jason Statham in Warner Bros.’ shark-starring sequel “Meg 2: The Trench” as well as sequel “The Wandering Earth 2,” another likely box-office smash in his home turf.
