A veteran of the Obama Administration — as both assistant to the president and chief of staff for the former First Lady — Tchen co-founded the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund. Backed by 300 women in entertainment and administered by the National Women’s Law Center, it connects those who’ve experienced workplace sexual harassment or related retaliation with legal and PR assistance. The fund has raised more $22 million and repped 3,400-plus people in the first three quarters of 2018. In March, the Recording Academy named her chair of its task force examining inclusion and diversity in the company and the music industry at large. She leads her firm’s workplace cultural compliance practice, counseling companies on harassment, diversity and gender equality.
