Mackie has been pivotal to beloved Netflix hit “The Crown” since its inception 10 years ago, working closely with writer Peter Morgan. It’s been a career-defining experience for Mackie, who last year received Variety’s International Achievement in Television Award. This year she executive produced season five, which sees Imelda Staunton take on the role of Queen Elizabeth, and she is now at work on the sixth and final season of the Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning drama. Mackie joined the series’ producer Left Bank in 2009, rising quickly to become creative director. She left to form Orchid Pictures in 2020 — which has an exclusive deal with Netflix — but agreed to exec produce the final two seasons of “The Crown.”
