If you think you had a busy 2021, compare notes with Boom, who moved Amazon Music into the podcast game with the acquisition of Wondery, the vehicle for such popular shows as “Dirty John” and “Dr. Death,” then forged a partnership with lauded podcast “SmartLess,” hosted by Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, delivering new episodes a week ahead of other services. He also worked a partnership with Twitch that brought livestreaming into the Amazon Music app. He led the development of DJ Mode, which provides on-demand streams that have the feel of a hosted radio show, and took advantage of Amazon’s Prime Day splash with the launch of a three-day show that featured Billie Eilish, H.E.R. and Kid Cudi, all broadcast globally on Prime Video and the Amazon Music app.
