Partner / Co-Head, Global Music

Once Nashville-based Clayton found UTA’s door after four years at WMA and 17 years at CAA, others followed. Aside from hires throughout the agency’s worldwide offices, he beefed up the Music City unit, wooing Matthew Morgan as co-head of that office, along with agents Mary Allen, Emily LaRose, Buster Phillips, Marissa Smith and Elisa Vazzana. That influx of new blood inspired a flock of talent to follow their reps to UTA — Lizzo, GAYLE, Leah Kate, CAM, JP Saxe, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Michael Franti among them. Clayton booked the 40-date AM Gold Tour for Train, which included UTA acts Jewel and Blues Traveler, and My Morning Jacket’s return to touring, featuring two sold-out nights at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He also heads the agency’s artist destination business, with Jacket and Train participating.
