Sanford Panitch

Columbia Pictures

Panitch was named president of Columbia Pictures in 2016. Owner Sony has had a strong run recently with both commercial and critical hits, including “Baby Driver,” “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” a joint Sony-Marvel venture. He joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2015 as president of international film and television. Apparently, Panitch has some sartorial smarts, too, designing a capsule menswear collection for Los Angeles fashion boutique Just One Eye in 2016 — complete with glossy promo video. Previously, he led SPE’s efforts to make local-language films in Japan, Germany, Brazil, India, China and more. While in international production, he oversaw everything from acquisitions to strategic planning. He previously worked at New Regency and was an executive vice president at 20th Century Fox.
