As the most prominent female voice on the political-satire landscape, Bee’s “Full Frontal” has morphed her self-described cathartic brand of humor into an international talking point by tackling right-wing policies and calling out (mostly) apathetic men in positions of power. She inadvertently switched from pontificating on the headlines to making them earlier in the year when she referred to Ivanka Trump as a “feckless c—” during a sketch criticizing the separation of immigrants from their children. She later apologized for using the words, saying they took attention away from the issue. Now moving headlong into the third season of her Emmy winner, she’s shaking up the status quo again with a set refresh and a new focus in the form of the 2018 midterm elections.
