If the March release of The Weeknd’s “After Hours” had been the Lebanese-Canadian exec’s only 2020 achievement, his year would have still made an impact. The singer’s third chart-topping album provided a diversion for fans cooped up at home, spending four weeks at the top and becoming one of the two most consumed collections of the year, per Alpha Data. Slaiby also shepherded success for Doja Cat (number one single) and NAV (number one album) from a roster including Bebe Rexha, French Montana, M.I.A., Ali Gatie and Ty Dolla $ign. Good works also occupy his time, as he’s on the board of Global Citizen and nonprofit think tank HXOUSE, and in 2019 he spoke at the Spotify-hosted Brilliant Minds conference.
