President

Back in 1981, Sabbah joined the family business, launched 67 years ago in Cairo and Beirut. Taking over Cedars Art in 2000, he and brother Ali grew the company into a prolific Arabic content creator, making some 10 TV series and two movies a year, including “Al Habya,” a huge Middle East hit picked up by Netflix, and Netflix original series “Dollar.” Despite COVID-19, Cedars Art, in its first collaboration with Disney, managed to produce “Sukkar Ziada,” an Egyptian adaptation of “Golden Girls.” Coming up is “Anbar12,” about the devastating Beirut port explosion. A pet project for Sabbah is nonprofit theater initiative Masrah Masr, which has branches in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Casablanca that help it serve as the company’s talent testing ground for television.
