The comic book “The Walking Dead,” which birthed a phenomenon, concluded its run in July after 16 years and 193 issues, but its creator Kirkman is keeping the undead franchise stumbling across platforms. In addition to the original TV series (in its 10th season) and “Fear the Walking Dead” (renewed for season six), there’s a spinoff show in development at AMC, an untitled theatrical feature focusing on Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the works at Universal, a new China-set novel (“The Walking Dead: Typhoon”) and an upcoming VR game from the interactive arm of Kirkman’s co-creation Skybound Entertainment. On top of that, his sci-fi thriller comic-book series “Oblivion Song” is now being turned into a Universal feature.
