Gertner has been on the rise at CAA. She was named co-lead for its newly formed Motion Picture Group in 2019, then in 2020 she moved up from the agency’s management committee to its board, where she’s a key player in the company’s day-to-day operations. Gertner has also been busy on behalf of her clients, orchestrating high-profile deals for Simon Kinberg to produce the sci-fi feature “Endurance” and the heist film “Here Comes the Flood” for Netflix, as well as an untitled Africa-set thriller starring Idris Elba for Apple, Ron Howard Thai cave rescue docudrama “Thirteen Lives” for MGM, Kenya Barris’ untitled Richard Pryor biopic and J.C. Chandor’s Marvel movie “Kraven the Hunter” for Sony. Other clients include Alex Kurtzman and Susannah Grant.
