A key figure in New Line Cinema’s ongoing success, the company veteran of 20 years has served as President of Production for the division since 2008. During his tenure, Brener has overseen and served as Executive Producer on many of the company’s most successful films, including such blockbusters as “Sex and the City,” “Wedding Crashers,” “Austin Powers in Goldmember,” “The Wedding Singer,” “We’re The Millers,” the “Final Destination” franchise, “Horrible Bosses,” and the global box office hit “San Andreas.”
Brener recently supervised the hit action comedy “Central Intelligence,” starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, which earned over $200 million worldwide; “The Conjuring 2,” James Wan’s blockbuster sequel to the “The Conjuring”; and the breakout hit “Lights Out.” His recent and upcoming projects include “Collateral Beauty,” with an ensemble cast including Will Smith, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Michael Peña, Naomie Harris, Kate Winslet, and Helen Mirren; “Fist Fight” starring Ice Cube and Charlie Day; “The House” starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler; and “It,” based on the classic Stephen King horror novel.
