Jones has made her mark at MSNBC since taking over the top slot in February 2021. In recent months, the veteran NBC News executive shuffled a number of the cabler’s weekend programming blocks in a clear effort to test out new opinion personalities for the

All eyes were on her choice of Alex Wagner to take up the key 9 p.m. slot Tuesday through Friday, previously and ceremoniously led by Rachel Maddow. With the breaking-news streamer NBC News Now, Jones is steering MSNBC deeper into “perspective” programming, which includes both analysis and opinion in its streaming and linear efforts.
