Pearlena
Igbokwe

Chairman, Universal Studio Group

Igbokwe’s portfolio expanded in 2020 to include all TV production after former boss Bonnie Hammer was upped to NBCUniversal vice chairman. Her production imprints have been on a roll amid the content boom, delivering critical favorites such as Peacock’s “Girls5Eva,” Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” and Peacock’s “Rutherford Falls.” She led complicated talks that birthed a buzzy new iteration of “Law & Order,” and Universal-based “Law & Order” boss Dick Wolf has further diversified with the successful CBS procedural franchise “FBI,” which added a second spinoff for 2021-22 with “FBI: International.” Igbokwe has been aggressive in courting top talent for Universal, such as setting an overall deal with Jordan Peele and optioning Stacey Abrams’ legal thriller novel “While Justice Sleeps” for development.
