Anointed chairman of Universal Studio Group in September 2020, Igbokwe now oversees production of some 2,500 hours of programming across broadcast, cable, international and alternative arms. She previously presided over Universal TV, where she brought the studio’s production to a record 52 scripted series in 2020, including Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” and “Little America” on Apple TV Plus. Before all that, she spent 20 years as a creative exec at Showtime. Igbokwe’s innovation during the pandemic-prompted shutdown included the “Parks and Recreation” special, which raised $5 million for Feeding America, and the COVID-centered “Connecting,” which employed socially distant storytelling.
