Vasile has headed Mediaset España for over 20 years, turning the Telecinco-owning Spanish TV network into a multi-platform international group. In addition to streamer Mitele, Vasile has focused on production, with content now seen in nearly 200 territories under the Mediterráneo Mediaset España brand, which has stakes in a string of Spanish prodcos. February brought a deal with Amazon Prime Video that took Spanish pay-TV and SVOD rights to four Mediaset España TV dramas and docuseries. Mediaset España-backed Alea Media was behind HBO Europe drama series “Patria,” which bowed in May in the U.S. and 61 countries. Movie arm Telecinco Cinema has delayed the release of films during the pandemic, though Jaume Balaguero’s heist movie “Way Down” is one of its most anticipated titles.
