When Lipman brothers Monte and Avery founded their own record company as a part-time hobby in 1995, few would have imagined the incredible track record 25 years in the business would bring. The Universal Music Group–owned label has led in market share among the majors for several years running — and dominated Top 40 radio. And it’s no wonder, what with superstar acts Drake, Ariana Grande, Post Malone, the Weekend and the Jonas Brothers on its roster. In 2019, Lipman scored a coup by signing Taylor Swift after working with her through several albums with the Republic-affiliated Big Machine. A devoted philanthropist, he and his brother previously received honors from the UJA Federation in an event that raised over a million dollars.
