If you’re looking for Lipman, try the top of the Billboard 200. No other label has held the No. 1 spot on the albums chart as many weeks — 19 — as Republic did through the month of October 2022, with two Taylor Swift sets and ones from Drake, Morgan Wallen and the late Pop Smoke stitching that streak. No wonder his label leads market share for current album sales. Swift’s pair of aces made her the first female artist ever to score three No. 1 albums in less than a year’s time, but she wasn’t the only Republic act breaking records this year: The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” set the mark for the most weeks charting on the Billboard Hot 100, while Drake became the first artist to see three songs simultaneously debut in that chart’s top three slots.
