Up until this year, Teller was best known for his role as jazz drummer Andrew Neiman in 2014’s “Whiplash,” nominated for the best picture Oscar. Then he landed the role of a lifetime, portraying Goose’s son, Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, in “Top Gun: Maverick,” the sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 film. After many pandemic delays, the movie became a massive hit, grossing $1.5 billion worldwide and marking the highest notch in Cruise’s filmography and becoming one of the biggest movies of all time. Also in 2022, Teller starred in sci-fi thriller “Spiderhead” from “Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski, and led the Paramount+ miniseries “The Offer,” a look at the making of “The Godfather.” And his schedule isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Next, he’ll exec produce and star in “The Gorge,” which is shaping up to be one of the hottest projects in town, with Anya Taylor-Joy co-starring and Apple Original Films coming on board.
