Lee

Vice Chairman

As vice chairman of South Korean lifestyle conglomerate the CJ Group and the person in charge of its entertainment and media subsidiary, CJ ENM, Lee has produced a long string of big-screen hits in her homeland, including a trio of films by director Bong Joon Ho, the latest of which, “Parasite,” in 2020 became the first foreign-language film to win the best picture Academy Award. She’s now partnering with producer Lynda Obst to develop “K-Pop: Lost in America,” the first major K-Pop movie to be made in the United States. It’s a natural evolution for Lee, who has been a prime driver of the musical phenomenon as one of the principals for KCON, a Korean pop-culture and music convention that launched in Southern California in 2012 and has since gone worldwide.
