Jordan, who grabbed attention in “Fruitvale Station,” became one of Hollywood’s hottest players with a drive that set new standards of diversity in the business, as he went after lead roles written for white men in movies such as “Fantastic Four” and HBO’s “Fahrenheit 451.” The writer-producer helped craft WarnerMedia’s new inclusion rider, which rolled out for production of his legal drama “Just Mercy” and will apply to all releases from Warner Bros., HBO and Turner. Jordan’s A-list status cemented with the “Rocky” relaunch “Creed” and then “Black Panther,” which made history at the box office and as Marvel’s first Oscar winner. Among his many upcoming projects is playing Tom Clancy Navy SEAL hero John Clark in “Without Remorse,” the first in Paramount’s CIA series.
